Climate Change / Tree Plantation
Bangladesh is one of the most disaster-prone countries in the world due to its geographical location. Natural calamities like cyclones, tidal waves, and floods hit the country every year. Climate change is increasing the incidence of cyclones, tidal waves, and floods; at the same time, sea level rise, heavy rainfall, lack of rain, drought, and river erosion are increasing alarmingly.
Implementation Strategy
Encouraging common people to plant trees around their habitations and in private fallow lands and implement the project with the help of local bodies e.g. Union Parishad and Upazila Parishad. To implement the project Hakim Foundation has devised some strategies. They are as follows: Promoting tree plantation by adopting various measures, encouraging mass people, developing the skills of the beneficiaries, and producing, distributing, planting, caring, monitoring, selecting seedlings, preparing seedling sites, etc.
